The Wahda Cloud — coming to Uzbekistan

· 2 min read

We're excited to share that The Wahda Cloud has been submitted to the 2026 President Tech Award — and, more importantly, that this is our first public step toward launching in Uzbekistan.

Coming home

The Wahda team is Uzbek. We built our engineering out of Tashkent, and while our first production region serves India, we've always intended to bring the platform home. The 2026 President Tech Award is the right moment to say it out loud: The Wahda Cloud is coming to Uzbekistan.

What it is

The Wahda Cloud is an OpenStack-powered public cloud with the full IaaS surface: Virtual Machines, block and object storage, managed load balancers, S3-compatible storage, managed databases, and enterprise-grade managed Kubernetes with hosted control planes. Everything on pay-as-you-go pricing, everything designed for builders who value transparent billing and a clean CLI.

For the Uzbek market that translates to:

  • Local region with local latency and local jurisdiction
  • Billing in UZS with proper VAT invoicing
  • Support in Russian, Uzbek, and English
  • A managed Kubernetes offering on par with what teams have historically had to reach for AWS/GCP to get

Why the President Tech Award

The PTA is judged on the technical depth of the platform, the market it addresses, and the contribution to Uzbekistan's positioning as a technology exporter. That's precisely the story we're telling: a Central-Asian engineering team delivering hyperscaler-adjacent quality at scale, first for India, next for Uzbekistan, and — with the right foundation — for anywhere.

Applying is the milestone. Launching is the mission.

Stay tuned for the beta program announcement in the coming weeks.
